I must say, I'm no MIDI expert, but I've never seen MIDI channels assigned like this. Hence, OMNI mode is always ON ready to receive from whatever global channel you're sending from your external keyboard controller. Then I discovered you could unselect Ch 4 and they all appear as though they're unused. So I discovered I could get audio from the external keyboard if I send from the controller any channel but 4.
4 thinking that's how you set the Global Midi Channel for the app. I've discovered Ravenscroft seems to be in OMNI mode all the time, unless you select one of the channels for "RECEIVE EVENTS FROM CHANNELS". This kind of thing is something I do not like about gigging with "devices". I tried turning off and on, disconnecting and connecting and it jolted things back into place. The Modx is usually the option there but it wasn't available. In the settings of B-3X, I could see the problem but not why it was happening: the audio outputs were set to "IOS" and "speaker". If Ravenscroft doesn't have something similar then perhaps try another app if you haven't to see if that works.or use something like Midiflow which has a midi monitor that can see incoming midi. First thing I'd try to do would be to determine if the problem is midi, audio or both.Īt my gig last night, using B-3X, I wasn't getting any sound via the ipad, but I could tell via the virtual keys that midi was happening.
